ANSTA appeals Nagaland govt to deliver justice to ad hoc teachers

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 18 (MExN): The All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) has written to the Commissioner and Secretary, School Education, asking the Nagaland Government to settle the regularization issue of All Nagaland Ad-hoc Teacher's Group (ANATG) 2015 batch.

A press release from the ANSTA said that the aggrieved Adhoc Teachers were appointed against sanctioned posts on Adhoc basis ranging from 1995-2012. The first appointees of 1995 have completed uninterrupted service of over 26 years now and the last appointees of 2012 have also completed 10 years of uninterrupted service.

“The said teachers being employed in their prime time are now left helpless or rather overaged to find another job to sustain their livelihood. The ANATG-2015 Batch has also undergone suitability test for service regularization and the same has been acknowledged by the government,” it noted.

The Under Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of School Education also wrote a letter to the Deputy Secretary, Cabinet Cell for service regularization of the batch, it informed.

However, the ANSTA said that the regularization process has not been materialized till date due to which the ANATG-2015 batch submitted a letter of ultimatum to the government on July 21.

The ANSTA expressed concern that should the government fail to look into the matter and the agitation of the ANATG begins, the smooth functioning of the department as well as the schools will be affected to a great extent, which will ultimately affect the students and their career.

“At the time when the exams are around the corner, the ANSTA strongly believes that the government will take such steps to prevent any eventualities that may be detrimental to the interests of the students and the teachers,” it said.

The association appealed to the government to settle the plight of the ANATG-2015 batch at the earliest possible time, “thereby delivering justice to its loyal and sincere employees.”
