ANTA holds 9th annual executive general meeting

Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) held its 9th Annual Executive General Meeting 2026 at Hotel Grand Maspel, Dimapur on March 27, with participation from 15 district affiliated ANTA units across Nagaland. The programme was hosted by the ANTA Dimapur Unit.

The meeting began with an invocation by Rev Rakhu Livi, followed by a welcome address by ANTA Dimapur Unit President Ghunato Chophy. The first session included presentations, exhortations, and special performances by members from affiliated units.

Exhortation was delivered by ANTA Mokokchung Unit President Tongpang Pongen, who stated, “He encouraged and urged upon the members to be steadfast in our service to the public and ANTA.”

The second session was chaired by ANTA HQ President Dziesevituo Paul Solo and recorded by General Secretary ANTA HQ Elho Kin. It focused on organisational matters, including review of the 2025 General Meeting Longleng Resolution, agenda discussions, and policy deliberations on the welfare and functioning of taxi operators across the state.

The release informed that the constituent members “has once again resolved and reaffirmed its earlier resolution dated 25th June 2024, withdrawing its earlier notification addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, which was further published in all local dailies dated 9th July 2024.” It stated that the resolution was in compliance with orders of the Civil Judge, Senior Division, Dimapur, dated February 7, 2024 and February 21, 2024, which recognized the legitimacy of Ghunato Chophy and others as duly elected office bearers of the ANTA Dimapur Unit, as per the ANTA Constitution.

It further stated that other agenda, including private agencies operating taxi services, were discussed and resolutions were adopted with collective consensus based on the provisions of the ANTA Constitution.

The association also reaffirmed “One Government, One Tax” resolution adopted during ACAUT Nagaland Public Rally.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by ANTA Dimapur Unit Advisor Steve Chophy, followed by a mass prayer for the well-being and progress of members.
