ANTA Peren condemns firing on civilian vehicle near Pimla Village

Dimapur, June 10 (MExN): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA), Peren Unit, has expressed shock and strongly condemned the alleged unprovoked firing on a civilian vehicle by an unidentified miscreant at Pimla Village in the early hours of June 5.

In a statement, the association described the incident as a cowardly act that posed a direct threat to the lives of innocent commuters and commercial drivers who use the route daily to earn their livelihood.

Stating that roads are the lifelines of the community, the association said indiscriminate firing in public places has shattered the sense of safety that drivers and passengers deserve. It added that an attack on civilian transport is an attack on the peace of society and cannot be tolerated.

The ANTA Peren Unit expressed solidarity with the occupants of the vehicle and their family members.

The association urged law enforcement agencies to launch a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrator at the earliest and to book those responsible under the strictest provisions of the law.

It also appealed to the concerned authorities to deploy police patrol units around Pimla Village and other vulnerable stretches of the road to ensure the safety and security of travellers.
