Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): The annual anti-hijack mock drill was conducted at Dimapur Airport on March 23. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security conducts the exercise in every airport in the country to check preparedness of all security agencies associated with airport security in events of hijack-situations. It was informed that the exercises were conducted successfully and the response of all the agencies was “as per the expectation.”
The office of the Dimapur Superintendent of Police informed today that the mock anti-hijack exercises was conducted from 2:30 PM. Present during the drills were district administration, Dimapur police, Assam rifles, BDDS of the 3rd Corps of Rangapahar, Fire department, Civil hospital personnel and the Airport Authority of India in coordination with the CISF. The CISF were the designated coordinators of the exercise, the SP’s not said.
