DIMAPUR: The Ao Senden has called upon the Naga people not to dwell on the past, narrating the ‘old story’ and sharing individual experiences with narrow-minded motives but to actively involve in helping to bring to an end the five-decade old Naga political issue.

Sounding a clarion call to the Nagas, the Ao Senden in a release issued by Bendangmayang Jamir President of the Ao community’s apex body, stated that it was not a time to be narrating the past with parochial motives but to face the practical reality of creating a new Naga history through co-operation of every Naga community which was a great challenge itself for which the people must be prepared to face.

Considering the most crucial stage towards the ‘finalization of the Indo-Naga political conflict’ the Senden appealed to the Nagas in general and the Ao citizens in particular living ‘far and wide’ to participate in the proposed Naga Integration Rally jointly called by the Naga Hoho, the Naga Students Federation, Naga Mothers Association, Nagaland Baptist Churches Council and the Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights on August 31 at Kohima.

It also called on the citizens to participate in every political negotiation without any reservations with the Government of India initiated by the Naga collective leaders.
