Mokokchung, August 25 (MExN): The Ao Senden strongly condemned the alleged torture and custodial death of one Naga youth E Henveih Phom of Anaki C Village under Mokokchung district in the hands of the Assam Police personnel of Geleki Police station, Assam.
According to reports, he was arrested by the Assam Police on August 16 has allegedly died under police custody on August 21.
“It is clearly indicated that the death is committed by the law keepers where they have taken the law into their own hands,” the Senden stated in a press release issued by its President Chubawati Longchar and General Secretary Imtipokyim.
It further appealed the authority to book the “errant personnel and proceed legal action and deliver justice so that such heinous action does not happen to anyone in the future.”
