Ao Senden & CSCF Mokokchung concerned over KPLT ultimatum

Mokokchung, June 25 (MExN): The Ao Senden and the Concern Senior Citizen’s Forum (CSCF) of Mokokchung has expressed sincere concern about the ongoing tension caused due to imposition of imprudent ultimatum served by the Karbi People’s Liberation Tigers (KPLT) on the innocent Rengma Nagas who are living in their ancestral land in Assam.

A joint press release issued by Ao Senden, president, Dr Sangyu Yaden and CSCF, Mokokchung member Mangko Jamir (Advocate) stated, ‘it is unbearable to hear of the suffering of the people belonging to Rengma Naga community peacefully living in Karbi Anglong district of Assam who are facing untold suffering at the hands of certain militant groups under a political strategy.’ It further added that the imposition of this inhuman and irrational ultimatum on the Rengma Nagas to leave their ancestral land is “not only illegal but also against basic human rights.”

Therefore, Ao Senden and CSCF have appealed to KPLT to respect the age-old ties with the Rengma Nagas by maintaining peace and tranquility in the region. They also appeals the Karbi Anglong district administration to remain vigilant to avert any untoward situations.
