Apoiji and Sitap villages get free solar lamp

Tuensang, February 5 (MExN): The Department of Forest, Tuensang distributed sun king eco friendly solar lamps to all the households free of cost in Apoiji and Sitap villages.   Divisional Forest Officer Tuensang, Dr. Sentitula, IFS in a press release stated that the programme was initiated by the department in collaboration with Eco-Solution a Mumbai based charitable NGO founded by Yatendra Agarwal. The solar lamps were donated by the NGO that aims to spreads ray of hope among the needy villagers. Apoiji village under ADC Tamlu headquarter, in Sitap Range was recognized in 2012 and the village does not have electricity connection and burns candles and kerosene oil to meet their ends.   The distribution programme was chaired by Ailong Range officer Sitap and solar lamps were given away by the EAC, Tamlu Tokavi V Sumi.   The villagers expressed gratitude to Dr. Sentitula.IFS, DFO Tuensang for her initiatives of considering and recognizing the vital need of their village, Ailong Range Officer for his tireless effort to help the villagers and Yatendra Agarwal for donating the lamps.   The villagers conveyed that since the recognition of the village by the government this help provided by the Forest Department is the first activity taken up by the government. The department in collaboration with the NGO is committed to expand its horizon by lighting up every home that does not have electricity under the district.
