An apology to Tangha Village Council

In response to S. Yongi Phom, Chairman, Tangha Village Council’s press statement in The Morung Express, dated 29/01/2011 titled: “Tangha Village Council condemned and nullifies page No. 108 of the book entitled, “Phom Chingshothü Dahishe Kaipang Büshah,” I am grateful to Mr. S. Yongi for correcting me as I stand corrected which I had clearly mentioned in my preface that there might be omissions and commissions in the book (brief history of the genesis of Phom villages, Baptist churches and NGOs- published in the year 2007)  due to the nature of our oral tradition of our history.
I do hereby declare Page No. 108, para- 4 “ALIPABÜ YANPÜ” about the history pertaining to Tangha and Kangching villages specified in the following sentence: “Tangha-i khangkha mokphi bong shei Kangching kü shipeih” as incorrectly mentioned and apologized to Tangha Village Council for the inadvertent mistake. It shall be rectified in the subsequent edition of the book.
While putting on record the invaluable contribution of various individuals in my humble effort to write the book for the benefit of our posterity, I also sensed the limitations of our oral tradition and therefore when the book was published only 300 copies were printed and circulated among the elders, leaders of the villages, NGOs and churches concern precisely for their comments, reactions and corrections and accordingly some views and corrections have come in. This has caused the delay in coming out with the second edition besides the delay in inclusion of new villages which are under the process for Government recognition.
Meanwhile, my humble request to all the parties is not to use the contents of my book as legal document, settlement of any dispute/controversy etc. that may arise within or outside the parties mentioned in this book is the prerogative of the village council, church, NGO, etcetera concern.
I once again humbly invite all concern to continue to give your comments and suggestions to my first edition and kindly show leniency to any omission or commission made in this book. Your kind cooperation and encouragement will go a long way in making this humble and insignificant work valuable one day.
