Appeal to resume oil exploration in Changpang

Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): The Oil Gas Wellhead Owners Union of Changpang oilfield had a meeting on June 1, where the house accepted the resignation of its president Yingashumo Yanthan and elected NK Kithan as the new president. During the reshuffling of it office bearers, Rentsamo Shitio was appointed as the Vice President, Yanpvu Odyuo as the Joint Secretary, and Chopao Odyuo as the treasurer, a press release said. Meanwhile, the Union has asked the Government of Nagaland to immediately resume exploration/extraction in Changpang oilfield “by appointing the company who has quoted the highest rate in the ‘expression of interest’ floated by the Government of Nagaland.” Further it stated, “The Union cannot tolerate any further delay for resumption of oil exploration and extraction in Changpang oilfield.”
