•-I hereby convey my deepest gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Imkonglemba Pongener, commissioner and secretary school education department, for approving and finalizing the promotion of my father Neitso Noudi to the post of Registrar in the school education department. My father took charge as Registrar in this department in the month of April 2010. However, his promotion order was not provided to him for almost a year for reasons unknown to us. Still then, even without any official order from the government, my father faithfully and sincerely performed his duties and responsibilities as Registrar for almost a year.
Sir, my father has finally received his promotion order from your office. The promotion order is dated 15th March 2011. I feel that it should have been dated much earlier than that since my father has been in charge of the post of Registrar since April 2010. However, considering the fact that you yourself took charge of the school education department only in January this year, we still appreciate your good gesture and timely action in bringing out the promotion order. My father has faithfully served this department for almost 30 years now and he will be retiring from service in February 2012. And the fact that he will be retiring as Registrar by all official accounts gives me great joy and satisfaction and I thank you for this.
I also take this opportunity to convey my deepest gratitude and appreciation to you for promoting Mrs. Ngulieneiü Suokhrie and Mr. Shürhosielie Yaotsu to the posts of Superintendents. Mrs. Ngulieneiü is a sincere and dedicated government servant who has selflessly rendered her valuable service to this department for the last 30 years. Not only that, she is a humble god-fearing person and an exemplary mother not only to her four children but also to many young people here in Kohima village. Apfo Ngulieneiü will be retiring very soon from her service and the fact that she will be retiring as superintendent and not as UDA will make all the difference to her life as a pensioner in the years ahead. And we are deeply grateful to you for this deliverance.
Coming to uncle Shürhosielie Yaotsu (Ngao), he is a man who needs no introduction for many here in Kohima. I have known and admired him since my early schooldays. He is a well-known singer and many of us admire him for the wonderful voice that he has. Indeed, for a prominent public figure like uncle Shürhosielie, it is really difficult to attend to one’s official duties on a daily basis in a big and busy office like the school education directorate office. However, he has proved himself exceedingly well in this. Over the years he has remained faithful and responsive to the calls and needs in the school education department. Uncle Ngao is now in the twilight years of his service as a government servant and presently one of the senior most employees in the department. Therefore I sincerely feel that if there is anyone in the school education department who deserves promotion, it is people like him.
Respected Sir Imkonglemba Pongener, you are known to be a bold, straightforward and committed administrative officer. And by bringing about these long overdue promotions, you have once again lived up to this reputation of yours. And for this I thank and salute you from the bottom of my heart.

•-Through this column, I as a concern citizen would like to draw the attention of the Chief Information Commissioner of Nagaland. Application had been submitted to the information officer of the Public and Administrative Reform department (P & AR deptt ) requesting him to furnish the final marks of the recently conducted LDA-cum-Computer Assistant exam under the Right To Information (RTI ) act 2005. It has been more than 2 months but the concern department is yet to make the final marks /interview marks public. Thou the government of Nagaland is creating awareness about the Right to Information act (RTI) to the public, it does not serve its purpose if the concern departments are reluctant /unwilling to disclose the information seek by the applicants. There is no law which bars it from making such information public. It's a humble appeal to the Chief Information Commissioner of Nagaland to look in to the matter and deliver justice.
