Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today informed that it will initiate “befitting action” against the culprits of the April 19, 2013 incident where the former speaker of the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation was assaulted by Chipo Lotha, Aqheto Sema and Panka Lotha in “the guise of the NSCN cadres.” The incident took place at the 5th Mile, Dimapur.
The Kilo Secretary of the NSCN (IM), Q. Awomi informed through a press release that action against the culprits will be considered by “the weight of the crime committed as per provision of the Azhas to deliver justice.” The decision was reached after a joint meeting of Steering Committee Executives and Cabinet Kilonsers on June 7 at CHQ, Hebron.
According to the Kilo Secretary, “the meeting seriously viewed the incident in detail and condemned the three culprits for tarnishing the good image of the NSCN and provoking the ENPO to create communal problems and trying to split the good relationship of the government and Naga people.”
The Kilo Secretary informed that the June 7 meeting was a follow up to a joint meeting of the “NSCN and ENNWW on the one hand and ENPO, ENSF and ENWO on the other” which was held at Dimapur on May 31, 2013, “to thrash out the matter.” The meeting, he stated, minutely deliberated on the incident, where it came to light that the “three culprits are not cadres of NSCN.”
