Kiphire, July 31 (MExN): The Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) facilitated residents of Pungro village with an Agro Farming Shed which caters for fruit sapling nursery, stocking of agriculture produce and shed for workers.
The facility was inaugurated on July 31 by Brig Abhinav Gurha, Commander 5 Sector Assam Rifles in the presence of VCMs, Pungro village and Chairman YTC, HQ IGAR (North) informed in a press release.
The newly inaugurated Agro farming shed includes provisions for requisite farming tools rain water harvesting with storage facility of 2000 ltrs to ensure water supply for sustained development of the nursery and fruit orchard. 1000 saplings of fruit bearing trees (assorted type) were also handed over during the inaugural event.
Meanwhile, the Jairampur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) provided medical assistance to a male resident who suffered critical injury to his chest on July 29.
“The individual was attacked by cattle which resulted in severe chest pain and difficulty in breathing. Timely reaction from troops in providing necessary first aid averted further criticality,” the press release informed.
