AR conducts various activities across Nagaland

Kohima, June 15 (MExN): The Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted various activities across Nagaland including medical camp and recruitment drive in the recent past, informed an official release from the paramilitary force.

Among others, the Kohima Battalion assisted the Civil Authorities of Kitsubozou Sub Centre, under UPHC Seikhazou for setting of infrastructure to carry out ‘hassle free vaccination drive’ on June 11 and 12. 

A total of 183 beneficiaries were administered with 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccination without any complication after the stipulated observation period, informed that press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (N).

The Jalukie Battalion also organised medical camp and awareness campaign on ‘World Blood Donors Day’ (June 14) at New Impai, Peren, where a total of 56 people, including 16 children received medical checkup.

Basic medical checkup of the villagers was done and they were made aware about the benefits and superstitions prevalent related to blood donation and also encouraged to come forward for the noble cause of giving life through blood, the release said. 

The villagers were also provided with mask and were advised to follow norms specified by the state government regarding COVID-19 pandemic, it added. Mosquito repellents were also distributed in order to curb spread of malaria.

The battalion also organised a ‘Women Empowerment and Recruitment Drive’ alongside lecture on COVID-19 Awareness at Tening Town on June 14 where 108 women participated. 

The team organised a campaign focused on registration for ongoing lady cadres for entry for Military Police and also creating awareness about precautions to be taken in wake of recent surge in COVID-19 cases, the release stated. 
The team emphasised on use of face masks, social distancing and use of hand sanitisers among other precautions

Meanwhile, the Longding Battalion under the aegis of Spear Corps organised a free medical checkup camp cum COVID-19 Awareness Drive for the residents of Longsom village, in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh on June 13. 
The medical team provided medical assistance, medicines and other COVID-19 related essentials to 277 villagers, the release added.
