
Dimapru, March 23 (MExN): 9 Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp at Chizami village on March 22. Chief Medical Officer 2IC C Satyaranjan along with his team conducted the medical camp, where 153 patients were treated and given free medicines, informed a press release from Assam Rifles. Basic knowledge on health education, including precaution from common viral diseases, importance of hygiene and sanitation, was also given to the villagers for better lifestyle.
A weapons display was organized by 7 Assam Rifles for the youth of Anutongre Village, Kiphire, on March 21 with an aim to increase awareness about the weapons held in an Assam Rifles Battalion and to motivate the young minds to join the folds of the Indian Armed Forces, AR informed in another press note. Around 350 people witnessed the display, where the Company Commander Anutongre also interacted with the youths and made them aware of potential career in the Assam Rifles. They were also apprised about the opportunities available for young women in Armed Forces.
Another weapon display and motivational lecture was organized for school children and youth at Tseminyu by 28 Assam Rifles on March 21. Maj Tokivi conducted the lecture which was attended by around 250 students and 10 teachers from Don Bosco School and Assembly of God School. It was followed by the weapons display.
Meanwhile, a friendly volleyball match was organized between 15 Assam Rifles and local youth at Shamator on March 21. The event was organised to promote the culture of sports and showcase the skill and talent of local youth, AR said. Maj Tokivi, of 28 Assam Rifles inaugurated the Annual Sport Day organized by Don Bosco School at New Tseminyu Village Local Ground on March 15. Maj Tokivi, according to AR, boosted the morale of the young students and exhorted them to maintain a competitive spirit.
Further, 15 Assam Rifles presented two computer sets along with printers to Government High School, Shamator on March 15.
