AR motorcycle rally reaches Kohima

Kohima, November 12 (MExN): The Assam Rifles motorcycle rally being organised in collaboration with JAWA Motorcycles to commemorate 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence passed through Kohima on November 12. 

The rally team of 24 riders started from Silchar on November 7 and reached Jwalamukhi, Manipur on November 11. The rally will cover all seven States of North East and finally culminate at Shillong on November 15.

PRO, HQ IGAR (N) in a press release stated that the purpose of the rally is to spread awareness among the locals about the efforts taken by Assam Rifles to curb insurgency in the North East, support development in remote areas and also to remember the sacrifices of the brave soldiers in the line of duty.

On Friday, the Motorcycle Rally started from Jwalamukhi and reached Kohima War Cemetery at 10:00 am. The Bikers were received by Brig Vinod Bajiya, SM, Dy IGAR(N) and NCC cadets from 1 Naga Girls NCC Battallion. The team leader Capt Navdeep laid a wreath at the wae cemetery and the team also interacted with the NCC cadets to motivate them to join the armed forces. Post small refreshments, the team departed for Jorhat via Dimapur.
