The Assam Rifles organised a musical fest, under the theme ‘Rhythm of Nagas’ at Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur on September 2. The event was organized for fostering the talented youth of Nagaland and providing a platform to display the rich Naga culture & its unbreakable bond with music.
The event was graced by the Lt Gen HS Sahi, AVSM, YSM, SM, GOC, Spear Corps as Chief Guest. The musical fest witnessed attendance of more than 200 persons.
The evening began with lighting of lamp by Lt Gen and Mrs HS Sahi as a symbolic gesture for commencement of the event. First performance was the song & dance 'We are Nagas' by Imna Yaden in collaboration with Tribal Creed Troupe.
This was followed by a medley performance by Five Minutes Band & a foot-tapping dance performance by Meyitemsu of Dance India Dance fame. As the evening progressed, mesmerising performances by Bright Light Choir and young maestro Mayoni Phinao won the hearts of those present in the audience. Among these performances, Jazz Bands of Assam Rifles also enthralled the audience.
The event concluded with felicitation of the participants by the Chief Guest.
