Dimapur, March 20 (MExN): Miao/Zunheboto Battalion of HQ 25 Sector Assam Rifles (AR), under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), conducted a security meeting with Gaonburahs (GBs) of Zunheboto town on March 20. A total of 18 GBs from 13 different villages attended the meeting, a state DIPR update informed. The main agenda of the meeting was to analyse the security situation before and after the Nagaland General Assembly Elections 2023, scrutinise the unchecked vulnerabilities and facilitate the drafting of the framework to mitigate any security threat, it said.
As per the DIPR, the GBs said that they are ‘peace makers of any village’ and would always stand with Assam Rifles to counter any illegal activities, unethical practices and extortion. They thanked the Assam Rifles for organising such programmes, which according to them, is a necessity for building a bridge between the army and the public. Assam Rifles also thanked the GBs for their participation and assured them that the Assam Rifles will always stand with the public and so requested their cooperation in the coming days too, the DIPR stated.
