Dimapur, January 16 (MExN): The Shamator Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North), 7 Sector AR organised a week-long tour for farmers of Noklak district.
As part of the tour which began on January 6, the farmers visited Agriculture University, Jorhat.
The tour was flagged from Tuensang by Brigadier Vikram Singh, Commander 7 Sector. On the occasion, he applauded the 14 Assam Rifles for the initiative taken by the Battalion and promised the farmers of Noklak district that this event would be made a routine affair, according to a DIPR report received here on Monday. He also said the farmers would learn the nuances of modern farming techniques and ways to enhance production and requested them to share all the knowledge they have acquired with other farmers of their villages and region.
During this tour farmers also visited the Kaziranga National Park which was appreciated by the farmers. All the farmers were felicitated by the Commander HQ 7 Sector, the report stated.
