
Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): Free medical camps were organized under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) at Razeba village in Pfutsero subdivision of Phek district and Chenmoho village of Mon district on February 19.
9 Assam Rifles organized the medical camp at Razeba village with an aim to provide treatment to the local populace where requisite medical facilities are not available, informed a press release from Assam Rifles. A specially constituted medical team under 2IC (CMO) C Satyaranjan conducted the medical camp and treated 275 patients comprising 95 male, 102 female, and 78 children. Free medicines were provided to those suffering from ailments. The medical team also conducted screening of diabetes.
Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precaution from common viral diseases was also imparted. Emphasis on importance of hygiene and sanitation were explained to the villagers for better living standard.
The people of Razeba Village and adjoining Villages appreciated the initiative of 9 Assam Rifles, according to the press release.
At Chenmoho village, 403 patients - 273 adults and 130 children - were provided medical assistance during the camp organized by 9 BIHAR from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. The patients were treated by RMO, 9 BIHAR and his medical staff. The villagers were also educated on the importance of vaccination, health and hygiene and household methods of treatment in case of exigencies, a separate press release from Assam Rifles informed.
Interaction programme held in Peren
As part of “grassroots level perception management activities,” 36 Assam Rifles carried out an interaction with participants of ‘We Unite Tour’, an adventure expedition being conducted in Peren district on February 17. The expedition, a press release received here stated, aims to provide boost to adventure activities within the district, while also exploring the rich cultural heritage of Peren and create awareness on various issues such as sanitation and health. During the interaction, various issues and ideas were brought out which could be promulgated through expedition, it added. The members of ‘We Unite Tour’ lauded various development projects undertaken by Assam Rifles in Peren district, the release said.
