Imphal, July 22 (MExN): Troops of 12 Assam Rifles seized 20 packets of Brown Sugar weighing 335 grams from a jungle track between Chikkim and Khudengthabi villages on July 22 around 7:00 am, according to a press release from AR. The AR troops had laid an ambush based on specific information regarding movement of certain contraband items on the jungle track, skirting PVCP at Khudengthabi. “At around 7:00 am a suspected individual was noticed coming on the track towards the ambush party with a backpack. On being challenged the individual threw the bag and slipped down...” The contraband estimated to cost Rs. 1.34 crore in the international market was recovered from the bag.
