Mon, March 24 (MExN): Tizit battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended one person during an operation conducted along with a police representative in Namtola, Assam on March 23. The person identified as Bijay Lama (32) “has been allegedly providing assistance to proscribed organisation NSCN (K) and ULFA (I),” stated a press release from Assam Rifles. It claimed that one AK–47 magazine, 30 live rounds 7.62 mm, one crude bomb, 200 SP tablets and Rs. 63,000/- in cash were recovered from him. The apprehended along with the recovered items was handed over to PS Namtola for further investigation, the release added.
