DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 21 (MExN): The ARK Foundation today urged to practice responsible behavior during celebrations during this festive season.
A press release from the foundation stated that festive seasons coupled with celebrations poses risk factors for many drug users and alcohol drinkers due to the excessive use of such substance in an attempt to merry making.
“This has in the past resulted in numerous hardships and loss of precious lives. While the unfortunate turn of events during such crises situations also result in untold misery and sadness to the families, it also is a great concern for our society to come across such unfortunate incidents during such festive days,” it lamented.
The ARK Foundation urged all to practice responsible behaviors during such celebrations by staying safe, healthy and alive.
“This is possible through the following few precautionary measures such as, not to use more than your previous capacity, not to immediately start using from morning hours, not to mix drugs and alcohol together, not to inject alone for risk of overdose,” the foundation stated.
It advised only “use of fresh and all new injecting paraphernalia for risk of HIV, HBV, HCV transmission when using in groups, not to use and drive, to eat healthy, rest adequately, drink enough fluids, and to always follow a good physical light exercise routine.”
The situation becomes more intensified due to the present COVID-19 situation about the likelihood of its transmission for all. It therefore stated that while the world awaits a vaccine “it is of supreme importance to continue following the COVID precautionary advisories as laid out by the government and not to be complacent.”
The ARK Foundation further extended a safe celebration and a prosperous new year.
