WOKHA, MAY 26 (MExN): The Adhoc-Regularized Primary Teachers’ Association, Nagaland (ARPTAN) was formally launched in Wokha on May 24 at the LTC Hall.
The association was launched with the aim to look after the needs and welfare of adhoc-regularized primary teachers under the state’s Department of School Education, a press release from ARPTAN media cell informed.
It stated that this was a follow-up execution of the February 15, 2019 meeting held at CANSSEA conference hall, Kohima where it was resolved to form an association to look after the needs and welfare of adhoc-regularized primary teachers of Nagaland who were being discriminated in service matters.
The communiqué made it clear that ARPTAN would be an independent association separate from all other associations or organizations within the Department of School Education, Nagaland.
A team led by T. Ezanthung Lotha as convenor, Rhanthungo Kikon as general secretary, Renpenthung Khuvung as finance secretary, and N. Kilumo Humtsoe as joint secretary incharge of Wokha district was also installed to look after the functioning of the association. Other office bearers would be co-opted/inducted from other districts as and when necessary.
Hundreds of adhoc-regularized primary teachers who attended the launching function resolved to give full support to ARPTAN and also to maintain a distinct identity from that of other associations or organizations within the state’s Department of School Education, the press release stated.
