Kohima, September 22 (MExN): In the interest of public service and in order to ease traffic congestion in and around Kohima town, new arrangements for shifting of parking zone/area for regional taxis/buses have been made as per the decision taken in the RTA meeting dated September 16. The order in this effect was issued by the by Shanava C, IAS Deputy Commissioner Kohima on September 22.
Further, in order to facilitate smooth transition, the following measures are notified:
• All city buses plying from High School Junction to BOC Junction will be permitted to ply from NPSC Office junction till Police Project Office, New Reserve, Phesama.
• Phoolbari Junction, Kohima will be designated as the dedicated parking area for local taxis/ Kohima Smart City buses, plying to ISBT, Kohima as feeder services.
• Picking and Dropping of passengers by Regional Taxis within Kohima Municipal Area shall be strictly prohibited.
• Rates for Local Taxis and Regional Taxis plying to and from ISBT, Kohima will be as per the rate fixed by the Regional Transport Authority vide this Office Order of even No. Dated Kohima, September 22.
• ANTA Kohima Unit will be in charge of the following at ISBT, Kohima: Waste Management; and Pay and Use Toilet.
• Kohima Municipal Council will assist ANTA in collection and disposal of the waste generated.
• Sr Superintendent of Police, Kohima will ensure the smooth management of traffic at ISBT, Kohima.
‘This order shall come into force from October 1, 2022 and strict action as per relevant sections of the law shall be initiated against the defaulters,’ the DC’s order stated.
