Arunachal CM Pema Khandu visits Naga Chef Stall in Kisama

Kohima, December 3 (MExN):  The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu visited the Naga Chef stall at the Naga Heritage Village Kisama on December 3. He was accompanied by Nagaland Minister of Public Health Engineering & Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, and Industries & Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, among others.

Expressing gratitude, Advisor to Chief Minister Nagaland, Abu Metha, conveyed appreciation to Naga Chef founders Alezo Kense and Kevitsu Doze, a DIPR report informed. 

He underscored the collective aspiration for Naga cuisine, music, and culture to serve as global ambassadors, steering away from associations with guns and violence and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Khandu for his presence at the event, it added. 

Naga Chef, a trailblazing culinary competition in Nagaland, aspires to elevate awareness and admiration for the distinctive indigenous cuisine of Nagaland, as per the report.

It serves as a platform for Naga chefs to exhibit their culinary expertise and showcase the diverse spectrum of Naga culinary delights to the world, it said. The competition, intricately designed with multiple rounds, endeavours to safeguard age-old Naga recipes while introducing the world to the soul-enriching wonders of local cuisine, it added. Contestants will be evaluated based on cooking proficiency, creativity, knowledge of local cuisine, passion for food, ability to perform under pressure, and teamwork, and the results are slated to be announced on December 9.

Earlier during the day, CM Khandu also graced the afternoon of the third day of the cultural extravaganza of the ongoing Hornbill Festival at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.  He later visited various stalls, including the Sumi Ki at the Naga Heritage Village Kisama.
