Mon, November 17 (MExN): AS-33 from Assam triumphed in the 4th edition of the Day/Night Volleyball Tournament, held on Saturday evening at the GMS School Ground, Lapa Lampong, Tizit, Mon. The event was organized under the theme ‘One Life, One Chance, Avoid Drugs,’ to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.

The final match saw AS-33 dominate the defending champions, Prime Spikers, with a clean sweep in three straight sets to secure the championship title.

The three-day tournament, organized by Naoshelim Lapa Lampong, featured seven teams, including a team from Assam. The event was inaugurated by Raju Thapa, President of the Mon District Volleyball Association, while the final match was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Nokjak Ranger of the Namsa Range and Ravindra, Major of the 27 Assam Rifles, Tizit Mon.

AS-33 took home a cash prize of ₹50,000, while the runners-up, Prime Spikers, were awarded ₹25,000. Individual honors included Shahil Gogoi of AS-33 as the Best Setter and Mridu Gogoi of Prime Spikers as the Best Spiker.

Naoshelim Lapa Lampong expressed gratitude to Paiwang Konyak, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, and Wango, Deputy Director of Social Welfare, for sponsoring the prize money.

Naoshelim, a non-profit voluntary group, continues its mission to support charitable causes, with all proceeds from the tournament being donated to rehabilitation centers or used for community welfare initiatives.
