DIMAPUR, AUGUST 9 (MExN): Two individuals Solomon Nyenthang Rengma and Nshoga Rengma “along with others involved in the recent revival and reformation of the ASDC Rengma region” have apologised to the Rengma Naga People's Council and “the general Rengma Nagas of Assam for deliberately going against the interest of Rengma Nagas and representing them in the political front in media without consulting them.”
A joint statement from the two persons said that the ASDC Rengma Region was dissolved and the Rengma Nagas disassociated from the ASDC “for a reason long ago.”
“We disrespected the constitution of the Rengma Naga Peoples' Council which is mandated by the Rengma Nagas for all purposes by trying to revive the same without proper consultation with our Apex body and the general Rengma Nagas,” the press release stated.
It further declared that "ASDC Rengma Region and all resolutions passed on the July 30 are null and void".
