ASHAs monitor the senior citizens in Phek district.
 

Phek, April 30 (MExN): Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) of Phek has been carrying out activity in monitoring the elderly people for protection during COVID-19 pandemic in their respective areas.

As the senior citizens age above 60 years and especially those with medical conditions like Chronic kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, Chronic liver disease etc are particularly susceptible to infections during COVID-19 which needs to be monitored for protection.

The ASHAs have been conducting house visit in disseminating the information on the advisory Do’s and Don’ts for protection of senior citizens prepared by GOI from increased health risk during this covid-19 pandemic. There are approximately 12743 elderly people in the district.

All ASHAs are also instructed to carry out wide publicity on the advisory in their respective jurisdiction.
