Assam Rifles conduct community activities

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 25 (MExN): The Assam Rifles conducted several civic projects throughout the State on October 24 and 25. 

The Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a motivational lecture on Career Prospects in Armed Forces at Livingstone Foundation International College, Thahekhu on October 25. The programme saw the participation of 112 students, including 69 boys, 30 girls and 13 teaching staff also took part in the event.

The Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles carried out a cleanliness drive in collaboration with Government High School Athibung, on October 25 as a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.’ 

The security forces alongwith the students raised awareness on the importance of cleanliness in one’s daily life and routine. The drive aimed to achieve the vision of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. A sense of responsibility was evoked among the youth and the public through the drive, informed a press release from the PRO, IGARN. A brief lecture was also conducted to raise awareness about the precautions to be taken in wake of recent surge of Covid-19 cases. 

Meanwhile, the Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles also conducted a medical camp and vaccination drive in collaboration with PHC Athibung on October 24.

Assam Rifles troops came forward to help the people amidst the Corona crisis along with a team of doctors from PHC Athibung. The villagers were also briefed about the various health and hygiene methods to be implemented during this crisis and were provided with necessary medicines. A total of 131 villagers including 39 male, 63 female, 29 children were benefitted from the camp.
