Assam Rifles conduct various activities

Dimapur, July 15 (MExN): The battalions of Assam Rifles in Nagaland conducted various activities over the last few days. 

 

Wreath laying at memorial of Capt Kenguruse


Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) carried out wreath laying ceremony at the memorial of Capt Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, MVC (Posthumous) in Sainik School, Punglwa. The Bust of the martyr was unveiled last year in the school premise on July 15.  Commandant Jalukie Battalion along with principal and faculty of Sainik School laid wreaths honouring the war hero. A guard of honour was also given on the occasion.

 

Road restoration 


Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) restored free flow of traffic on Pungro - Longmatre road, which is the only lifeline used by residents of nearby villages. The traffic on the road was disrupted due to landslide which occurred on the night July 14, after heavy and incessant rainfall. 


Road maintenance


Jalukie battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) carried out road maintenance drive in collaboration with Athibung Town Youth Organization, between Athibung and Saijang village road link on July 14. 


The drive was carried out to restore the road condition for hassle-free vehicular movement, deteriorated by incessant rainfall amid onset on monsoon. Apart from road maintenance, face masks were also distributed to residents.
