Dimapur, February 5 (MExN): The Shamator Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised an awareness lecture on Cancer and Free Blood Group Test at Shamator Village, on February 4.
It also organized an awareness lecture on cancer, keeping in view of the World Cancer Day with an aim of educating youths about various types of cancer. CMO 14 Assam Rifles also emphasised about preventive measures of cancer, according to an official release received here on Sunday.
Similarly, the Jalukie Battalion also organised a mega awareness lecture on cancer across Peren district, on February 4.
The locals were made aware about likely causes, symptoms and precautions to avoid the lethal disease, the release informed.
During the programme, emphasis was laid on living healthy lifestyle, regular medical check-up, importance of exercise and eating balance diet along with testing and treatment of the disease. A total of 59 villagers attend the lecture, as per the release.
