Glimpses of the several activities conducted by the Assam Rifles across Nagaland.

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 22 (MExN): The Assam Rifles has issued a statement with regard to activities conducted by its personnel in various parts of Nagaland.

A security meeting with a total of 76 villagers, including the VCC, VDB Secretary, GBs and Youth from 11 Villages of Kezocha Range and Kikruma Area was held at Chakhabama on Oct 22. The aim of the security meeting was to discuss and update about the prevailing security situation existing in the area. Sharing of information for any untoward incidents, coordination and convergence on the issues of mutual interest between security forces and public were deliberately discussed during the conduct of the meeting.

Attendees were also informed about likely security threats in the region and also about the efforts of the Assam Rifles to maintain peace and harmony in the region. During the meeting, the locals were also updated and informed about the various job opportunities and recruitment in the Armed Forces, and various MCA project undertaken in the area.
In Tenning, ‘A Day with Company Commander’ was held on October 22 to motivate ambition, and combat drug abuse among school children. During the interactive lunch break, the students engaged in conversations with the men and women of Assam Rifles. The event concluded with a drawing competition. The Company Commander expressed his gratitude to all the participating schools, students, and volunteers. A total of 58 students and 03 school staff attend the event.

The Assam Rifles also carried out a medical camp and distribution of furniture in Kaimoi Village, Wakka of Longding District on October 23. Villagers were screened for lifestyle diseases and malnutrition. More than 180 villagers have attended the med camp and were provided with medicines and necessary medical advice. They also distributed furniture to Government Primary School in Kaimoi. 47 students of the school participated.
