Assessment camp for PwDs in Kohima on October 31

Kohima, October 25 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, has informed that there will be an Assessment Camp for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), by ALIMCO, Kanpur, Kanpur in collaboration with DDRC, Dimapur on October 31 from 9:30 am at the Auditorium, Razhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima. The camp will he held for the PwDs of Kohima for those residing in Kohima town.  

The PwDs will be examined and assessed regarding their nature of disability, and the type of aids and appliances like Crutches, Wheel chairs etc., they would require.  

Persons with the following type of disabilities can attend the camp: (i) Visual Disabilities- only total blind (100 % blindness) patients; (ii) Amputees (those without limbs)- only those without lower limbs can attend the camp; (iii) Other Locomotor (physically handicapped), hearing and speech disabilities, and mental retardation- all categories with disability 40% and above can attend the camp.  

The selected PwDs will be provided aids and appliances during December, 2017 and January, 2018 free of cost. The PwDs attending the Assessment Camp have been asked to bring the following documents during the camp: Disability Certificate- Photocopy/Xerox; Income Certificate (Below Rs. 15,000/- per month) original copy; Residential/ID proof- Aadhaar/Voter ID/Ration Card/Any Govt. ID card etc., photocopy; Passport size (4x5) photo (full body showing disabilities).
