Distribution of assistive aids to differently abled persons, a CSR initiative of district administration, Mokokchung & Ocwen Financial Corporation, Bangalore was held today at the Conference Hall, DC Office, Mokokchung with Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Sharingain Longkumer as special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharingain said everyone is suffering with a form of disability,but we see only those who are physically disabled. He said unlike other advance countries,disability is a subject matter which is new to us and is least discussed, but it is time we shouldrealize that it is not a subject to be discussed but a matter to be addressed.
According to Sharingain, the purpose of providing assistive aids is to enable individuals with disabilities to express themselves, demonstrate their abilities and show what they are capable of. Sharingain expressed his appreciation to Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung and his team for all the initiatives taken and thanked the Ocwen Financial Corporation, Bangalore for their noble deeds.
The keynote address was given by Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, and a brief speech was made by a representative of Ocwen Financial Corporation. Imwapangla Ozukum presented a special number, and Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (Civil), Mokokchung, proposed a vote of thanks, thanking SP Ravi, President of Ocwen Financial Corporation.
50 wheelchairs, 30 hearing aids, 50 walking stick elbow crutches, and 50 underarm crutches were distributed.
