The new thinking which is in mind as the conceptual theme (Embracing a New Thinking) for the 25th Biennial General Conference of the Angami Students’ Union to be held from 19-21 April, 2013 at Khuzama Village, is not really a new thought in true sense. It is paying the neglected thought a humble visitation in search of motivation for growing into a cultivated culture in the never quenched civilizations where two optional choices—dignified contentment and negative divergence— are found encompassing humanity. It is a calling upon the Spirit and purpose of the Ancient Truth and embraces His counsel towards advancement.
The new thinking is about redefining our thinking into the thought which sprouts from the root of creation. This thought, master planned by the Creator and gifted mankind to the extent man could think, invent and hold onto it. It is perhaps safe to say that it stands on the pillars of progressive, presentable, accountable, vigorous, courageous, persistent, invaluable, principled and spiritual components and so on. It processes within and translates into a practical reality. It has, on one side, influence to unleash reasons to dialogue with and within ones conscience and arrival at an agreement on the basis of truth. It is an inner mechanism designed to heal one own soul and ailing souls of those we may come across. On the other side, it is not a reproduction gained by employing the means of exploitation, unfairness, and irregularities to achieve an ends. It is that which bears witness beyond the confined walls of classroom and has power to triumph over the fearful frontiers and territory of self-made impossible. It shapes into a confident character adorned by the grandeur of integrity because the success is derived from the investment of sweats and toils in pursuit of its principled purpose.
The message is plain and simple. The phrase is neither new nor superficial. The expression is repeatedly uttered on the lips over thousands of years, and the task executed with the strength of mind, from the boldness of heart and by paying the price of noble sacrifice through the ages. It landed us on where we are today.
The venture in hand places one theme before us. Shall we embrace a new thinking and speed up to the rapidity on the path of mankind? The new thinking pressed into deed would not be without challenge. It may not bear its fruits overnight. Yet, it is value-based. It envisions propelling progress set with holistic sophistication. It assures sustainable hope. It promises positive dividend.
