Construction workers move from villages to commercial centers or urban places in search of work opportunities and better living standard. Most of the construction workers in Nagaland usually work without proper safety gear making it more vulnerable for the labourer and are exposed to health hazards. They are also exposed to many diseases from their work places due to negligence of health awareness, especially respiratory issues from constantly inhaling paint fumes, cement particles and construction dust.

This is the first photo report in a series of 3 about the working conditions/environment of construction workers in Nagaland as part of the Kohima Press Club & Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Media Fellowship 2023.
