ATMA Akuluto takes measures to ensure food security

Zunheboto, September 9 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Akuluto block organized training and demonstration for value addition and on cultivation practices of multi layer farming for Rabi crops at VK town, Zunheboto on September 9. The programme was also held with the objective to ensure food security in the area during COVID-19. 

Trainings on principles and methods of fruits and vegetables preservation and demonstration on making of fruits beverage, jam, jelly, marmalade and pickle making were conducted. 

According to a press release from ATMA Akuluto block, the resource person Tovi V Jimomi, ATM Sataka block explained through audio and visual display with demonstration the importance, benefits and positive effects of fruits and vegetables preservation to prevent colossal wastage of fresh produce and to extend the shelf life of the produce to develop value addition products on agriculture. He also stressed to focus more on cultivation practices of multi layer farming for maintains ecological balance in the environment and for more production, more income per unit area etc. 

He encourage and disseminated the knowledge to the farmers to plant more fruits trees for future generation and to consume more fruits and vegetables for better long healthy life. 

The programme concluded with interaction and feedback session from the participants. All together 27 farmers from three villages attended the programme.
