DIMAPUR, MARCH 6 (MExN): A one day training cum capacity building of farmers was conducted on March 5 at Porba village under Pfutsero block, Phek district. A press note stated that it targeted in enhancing the capacity of the farmers in various aspects of agricultural practices.
The programme was graced by the presence of resource persons from Agri & allied departments viz Fishery, horticulture, soil and water conservation & KVK. More than 75 farmers from all pockets of Pfutsero block attended the training.
The major component of the training was the field demonstration on vermicompost (a technique of generating organic manure through natural means with the help of earthworm). Another important development of the day was the initiation of a plum farm school at a farm located at kukilu in Porba village. This was stated in a press note by Keneilie U Suokhrie, BTM, ATMA, Pfutsero block.
