ATMA Mokochung, Chuchuyimlang block along with farmers after the demonstration cum mobilisation on farmers group held at Yaongyimti old village on October 9.
Mokokchung, October 12 (MExN): ATMA Mokokchung, Chuchuyimlang block, conducted one-day demonstration-cum-promotion of food security group and demonstration-cum-group mobilisation on farmers group at Yaongyimti new and Yaongyimti old villages respectively on October 9.
A press release received here stated the programme was chaired by Aolemla, BTM Chuchuyimlang block wherein she highlighted on the importance, benefits and promotion of food security hubs.
Resource person, Nuksunginla Jamir, ATM Kobulong block, elucidated on crop rotation, nursery management and soil fertility management for sustainable crop production. She demonstrated on seed bed preparation and the cultivation of garden pea, cabbage and various winter vegetable crops, while explaining about the critical stages of the crops in both the villages.
Further, group mobilisation of Thangjem Farmers group at Yaongyimti old village was initiated. Nuksunginla, ATM also made the group acquainted with register and cash book maintenance, which was later distributed to the group.
She further explained on the importance of implementation of value added crops and legumes. Various seeds, fertilizers and tools were distributed in both the villages.
