
Phek, July 29 (MExN): Kissan Ghostis and demonstration programme on agri and allied activities was organised by ATMA Phek for Kikruma and Chetheba Block on July 25 and 26 at Phusachodu and K. Basa Village respectively.
An exhibition cum sale of various crops and processed products was held on the occasion where altogether 65 farmers and women SHGs actively participated. In line with the programme Resource person Madam Hanah K. Asangla SMS (Agronomy), KVK Phek gave a detailed explanation as well as practical demonstration on nursery raising on vegetable crops emphasizing on the importance of maintaining proper size of nursery bed, proper line sowing of seeds for uniform germination, to prevent over-crowding as well as for easy cultural operations. Resource persons SRD Potsülü Theluo, KVK Phek demonstrated on gel making as well as detergent making keeping in mind the economic interest of women SHGs and also for own individual use as both the products are easy to make and cost effective too.
Rüza Farm School sponsored under PMKSY was inaugurated on July 27 at Kikruma Village organised by ATMA Phek Kikruma Block. Training and demonstration on the topics paddy cum fish culture, water pH testing with lime, demonstration on construction of low cost water harvesting structure to conserve rain water to be used during the lean period were covered by Dzuthoru Chotso, FD District Fishery Officer, Phek as the resource person. A total of 27 farmers attended the programme and Zanehü Tunyi was appointed as the Farm Teacher.
