Tuensang, January 31 (MExN): ATMA Tuensang Sangsangnyu block conducted inauguration of Ginger Farm School, training and demonstration at Tuensang Village B and L khel on January 28 and 29.
At the farm school, ATM Mayangthemba trained the farmers on the ‘Post harvest management in Ginger.’ He advised the farmers to stressed on washing and cleaning, air drying of rhizome for long term storage and gave a detailed illustration of different storage methods made from locally available materials. Cultivation practices of Potato, Lady’s Finger and nursery seed bed preparation of Cabbage were also demonstrated. Method of sowing and application of bio fertilizer and precautions to be made while using were shown.
ATM Neilhouvou also gave a brief highlight on Piggery Management and emphasized on proper housing, feeding, sanitation, diseases and health care. The programme concluded with distribution of seeds and biofertilizers for the participants. Altogether 45 farmers from both the villages and three ATMA functionaries attended the programme.
