Wokha, October 19 (MExN): ATMA Wokha block inaugurated Farm School on Fishery at Litsujiu under Longsachung village on October 8.
During the programme, DPD T Subenthung Yanthan, while delivering his short speech spoke about the main objective of ATMA where the focus being on the transfer of technology, encouraged the farmers to follow technical knowledge been imparted to them and also to self motivate and encourage fellow farmers while take up any farming activities so the invested labour and money will yield a good return.
Concept of Farm school was shared by Eyingbeni T Humtsoe ATM, Wokha Block. She stated that the farm school are been established in the field of outstanding or achiever farmers and the Farm school teachers and students knowledge and skill may be upgraded through training, exposure visits etc and would have the responsibility of providing extension support to other farmers.
The resource person Yitsemo Kikon, Fishery Demonstrator, Department of fishery imparted technical knowhow on fishery pond management and criteria to be considered while Establishing a fishery and also demonstrated on liming and fish feeding followed with discussion and interaction with the farmers. Later at the end, fish feeds were distributed to the farmers. Pankathung Ezung was selected as the Farm school teacher.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Mhalo Tungoe BTT Convenor Wokha Block & SMS KVK and Vote of thanks was delivered by Yanthungo Ngullie BTM Wokha Block. All together 30 farmers attended the programme.
