IMPHAL, April 11 (NNN): All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) led by Muan Tombing has vehemently condemned the life attempt on Manipur legislative assembly deputy speaker M K Preshaw Shimray for the second time at MATA farm under Litan police station in Ukhrul district on April 9 while returning from his native Poi Village after casting his vote.
"We are living in one of the largest democratic state and it is quite pertinent and empirical that any ideological differences or rift between the Deputy Speaker and any group of people over-ground or underground group can be amicably resolved through peaceful dialogue. The Union once again gives this clarion call to one and all irrespective of ethnicity or community to give peace a chance and stop abetting to indulge in anti-social activities. Let us shun from violence and bloodshed to make this world a better place to live in," the tribal students' body said.

The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has condemned the assassination bid carried out on the Deputy Speaker MK Preshaw Shimray on April 9 at MATA farm under Litan police station.
The student body said it is perturbed to witness frequent occurrence of ambush, bomb attack and kidnapping in a democratic state like Manipur. Such an act of barbarism and cowardice has no place to resolve a permanent solution. The union appealed to the perpetrators to shun from violence for peaceful co-existence of all communities living in the state.
