Auto drivers resent proposed metre system

Dimapur, June 6 (MExN): The Dimapur District Auto-rickshaw Drivers Union (DDADU) today expressed resentment over what it termed, the imposition/use of metre in the auto rickshaw keeping par with the other advanced cities of India and said that plan to impose the metre system would be a futile exercise. 

“The DDADU also after detail discussion and deliberation on the issue have express its opinion to fixed Rs 20 in first initial distance, the DDADU opined that lighting system in all traffic points of Dimapur have closed down, because the same could not carried out successfully, in such situation the DDADU express that it will be futile attempt to imposed metre system in the state of Nagaland,” the DDADU president Akaho Kiba, stated in a press release received here today.        

 
In this regard, the Union asserted that in such a situation, such imposition would invite many complacency  ‘of tussling between the passengers and drivers in the course of trips to various destinations’. 

“In such situation the DDADU find that it will invite many complacency of tussling between the passengers and drivers’ in the course of trips to various destination. In such events it will (be) hard enough to take un immediate (sic) steps to prevent un wanted happiness (sic) between them auto drivers’ and passengers (sic). In act the standard of Dimapur district is not up to extend for implementing the metre system in auto rickshaw (sic),” the release stated and at the same time appealed the concern authority to “modify the order accordingly”. 

Nonetheless, the DDADU expressed “its acceptance of the drivers of auto rickshaw, taking into consideration the benefit of having uniform of auto-drivers, and name tag badge for all practical purpose”.
