Dimapur: All Auto rickshaw owners and drivers have been directed to pay their District Auto Drivers’ Union (DADU) membership fees on a monthly basis. This was informed by the President of the DADU, H Hetoi Chophi.
As a result of this notification, membership fees will be no more be collected on a daily basis. Chophi has informed that the DADU Executive Council members had reached upon this decision in a meeting.
In response to the suggestion given by the Civil Administration, and the Dimapur Municipal Council, DADU, after observing the outcome/result has finally consented to cooperate to the advice because as published in local dailies earlier, daily issuance of membership fees to the Auto drivers has brought many misunderstandings among the Union’s collectors, Chophi has stated.
Auto drivers, owners and the general public have been requested to cooperate with the union in this regard. The union’s directive has been enforced from September 1.
The DADU has further informed that the last date for depositing the membership fees will be the 10th of every month and that a fine of Rs 50 will be imposed for late submission of the same.
