Officials, organizers and participants after the successful awareness camp in Khuzama.

KHUZAMA, MAY 1 (MExN): Khuzama Empowerment and Skill Advancement (KESA), in partnership with Doctors for You (DFY) and with support from National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL), organized an awareness camp on Menstrual Hygiene Management along with the distribution of free reusable sanitary pads at the Khuzama Village Council Hall on May 1.

According to a press release issued by KESA Convener Razouvikhol Luho, the initiative, assisted by the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), aimed to promote menstrual health awareness and provide sustainable hygiene solutions to girls and women in the community. The program witnessed active participation from over 150 girl students from Baptist Higher Secondary School, Sacred Heart School, and Government High School, alongside women from the Khuzama village.

The event began with an invocation prayer by Mhaphuvi Naleo, Pastor of Khuzama Baptist Church, and was led by Razouvikhol Luho, Convenor of KESA.

KESA is an initiative of Mhachü Kedojü Houdo, a subcommittee under the Khuzama Baptist Church Centenary Committee, dedicated to empowering the youth and wider community of Khuzama through structured skill development, vocational training, and employment generation programs.

Non-denominational and inclusive by design, KESA envisions sustainable, community-led transformation addressing local challenges such as unemployment while fostering entrepreneurial and employability skills.

The awareness camp is a step forward in promoting health education, breaking taboos around menstruation, and advancing gender-sensitive development in rural communities, the press release stated.
