AYO & JCC Ao Senden take note of NPF “threat” to govt servants

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 16 (MExN): The JCC Ao Senden on Thursday said it has taken serious note of the “threat” issued by the NPF Central through a press statement published in local dailies on February 16 wherein it ‘threatened some government servants of “participating” and “funding” the ongoing agitation against the state government’.

In a press statement, the JCC Ao Senden termed the “threat” issued by the NPF party to those bonafide Nagas citizens for helping and joining in this movement as an “enemy of the Nagas.”

“The JCC makes it clear that the battle today is not a political party battle but it is a battle for the rights of every Naga citizen. Therefore, the JCC advises those writers who have written such blasphemous words should think about their own roots and origins first before writing such irresponsible statements,” the press statement read.

The JCC  Ao Senden also vowed that if any misfortune happens to any Ao citizens through the threat issued by the NPF, the Aos will not remain silent and will initiate appropriate steps.

The Angami Youth Organisation also termed the NPF’s allegation that some government servants are funding the agitation as “highly comical and ridiculous.” A press note from the AYO said that “no government funds or contribution from any politician have been utilised for the movement.”

It further asked the NPF to “differentiate between government funds and personal contribution,” adding that “failure on the part of the persons in the NPF Central to participate in the people’s movement only shows that they are anti-Naga and anti-democracy.”

It added that the “people of Nagaland know who is responsible for non-payment of salaries, the PDS scam, the fuel adulteration scam, attempts to steal crude oil in Wokha, etc.” The AYO further cautioned the NPF Central office bearers and its other agencies, that “if it continues their personal attack any of its members and victimise any AYO member(s) or benefactors, the AYO will seek them out any day and retaliate to protect its members even after a solution is found to this social impasse.”

It meanwhile appreciated all organisations and individuals who have lent support to the “peoples’ movement.”
