AYO says present issue is a ‘people’s movement'

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO), while responding to the NPF’s recent statement, reminded that the present issue is a “people’s movement against the government.”

A press note from the AYO censured the NPF central body for “shamelessly” branding the “much respected Naga Tribal bodies who are sincerely working to salvage our people.”

It condemned the NPF for “holding the illusion that a mass public movement cannot shake the government for its unjust, manipulative and scheming policies.”

It further said that the AYO is “deeply offended by the act of engineering personal attack on KT Villie, the Vice President, APO and now the convener of NTAC as he was once upon a time official PS to former Chief Minister of Nagaland.” It warned the NPF that he is “selected by the Angami people to lead and represent our community in the Angami and NTAC levels. Therefore, allegations levelled against him are a direct challenge to our tribe itself and the Nagas at large.”

It accused the NPF of “manufacturing stories based on their wild imaginations and assumptions.” The AYO meanwhile reiterated that “within or without, we condone no political interferences in this movement.”
