Wokha, September 29 (MExN): The ‘Ayushman Bharat Pakawara’ walkathon was flagged off by Dr. Robin Lotha, Chief Medical Officer Wokha at CMO Office on September 27.
A press release issued by Chothanu, Media Officer, CMO Office Wokha stated that a health screening camp and BIS drive was also conducted. The flagging off of the walkathon was followed by a special programme at Tiyi Hall where Dr Khokolie Savino, MO gave health talks on deworming and Erenbeni Kikon, Senior Supervisor, ICDS Wokha briefed the beneficiaries on importance of balanced diet. Beneficiaries who have registered for Ayushman Bharat –Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) gave testimonies and Disahe Vadeo, BPM Bhandari was awarded with best PMAM award. Earlier, chairing the programme, Dr ZubenKikon lauded the beneficiaries, self groups, ASHAs, angawadis and colony representatives for taking active part in the programme and gave a brief introduction on Ayushman Bharat PMJAY.
The integrated community sensitization cum BIS drive and health screening camp was launched by Chonpenthung Ezung, SDO Civil Wokha. Around six thousand beneficiaries have availed the health insurance and many more are yet to be covered by the scheme, he said. Ezung emphasized on the importance of health insurance and urged the opinion leaders to create more awareness at grassroot level. 15HIV tests, 20 malaria tests, 100 RBS tests were done and hundreds of people availed free BIS entry and health check up services.
